IODINE - THE UNIVERSAL MEDICINE
|
What would cause woman to freely remove their own breasts? Uncertainty is the abyss that the
breast cancer patient finds themselves in. This abyss exists only because woman have been
sheltered from the truth; breast cancer is avoidable and treatable... In the text that follows Dr.
Brownstein and others share their research and saved patients. The next part of the truth is that
Mammograms cause breast cancer. They are not the sleek early detection machine that
conventional medicine had led us all to believe. Mammograms use radiation to take an image of
the breast. A womans Areolas are especially susceptible to this type of ionizing radiation. This is
fulfilling test, which causes cancer then ironically detects it. In 1976, the controversy over
radiation and mammography reached a saturation point. At that time mammographic
technology delivered five to 10 rads (radiation-absorbed doses) per screening, as compared to
1 rad in current screening methods. In women between the ages of 35 and 50, each rad of
exposure increased the risk of breast cancer by one percent, according to Dr. Frank Rauscher,
then-director of the NCI. http://www.naturalnews.com/010886.html
Any woman, anywhere, can refuse a mammogram and opt for the much safer, much more
accurate ultra sound. In many cases, if something is detected on a mammogram the ultrasound is
the next test in the sequence anyway. Ultrasound technology uses no radiation and is by
definition non-invasive. In addition, mammogram technology is very inaccurate to begin with;
Dr. Samuel S. Epstein, in his book, The Politics Of Cancer, claims that in women ages 40 to 49,
one in four instances of cancer is missed at each mammography. The National Cancer Institute
(NCI) puts the false negative rate even higher at 40 percent among women ages 40-49.
National Institutes of Health spokespeople also admit that mammograms miss 10 percent of
malignant tumors in women over 50,see: 2000, Ole Olsen and Peter Gotzsche
Gotzsche, P.C. & Olsen, O. Is screening for breast cancer with mammography justifiable?. The Lancet, 355, 129 - 134, (2000).
The take home point from this page of my site is that if you are being tested INSIST on an
ultrasound. If your doctor will not give you script for an ultrasound, then politely tell them you will
go to another doctor who will. The only reason that they would not is that it deviates from their
protocols. Your health is your responsibility; their protocols should be of no concern to you.
Now here are some insights on how to treat and prevent breast cancer without surgery, chemo
or radiation therapy.
Enter Dr. David Brownstein:
"My research has shown that after testing over 4,000 patients for their iodine levels, over
96% of those tested are significantly low in iodine."
Brownstein has been quite successful treating hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism with the
iodine/iodide supplement Iodoral that is available over the Internet without prescription. Dr.
Brownstein believes that the usual thyroid medication prescribed by doctors is the wrong
treatment because it does not deal with the underlying iodine deficiency problem.
All cells in the body need iodine for proper functioning. All glands (thyroid, adrenal, etc.)
especially need iodine for the production of hormones. Dr. Brownstein believes that iodine
deficiency is a major cause of breast cancer and other diseases of the reproductive organs such
as ovarian, uterus and prostrate cysts and cancers. Iodine levels in US soil have fallen 50 per
cent over the past 50 years and soil in the US is deficient in iodine. The Great Lakes region has
some of lowest soil iodine levels in the world and this results in high levels of cancers related to
iodine deficiency. Dr. Brownstein has been quite successful in treating fibrocystic breast disease
(cysts in the breast) with iodine/iodine supplementation. In one case a 37 year-old woman with
severe fibrocystic breast disease was completely cured after supplementing with 50 mgs of
iodine in the form of Iodoral a day for two months. Women with larger breasts need more iodine
than women with smaller breasts. Other medical authorities agree that iodine deficiency can lead
to fibrocystic breast disease and/or ovarian cysts. http://www.scribd.com/doc/1959949/IODINE-

Donald J. Miller:
People in the U.S. consume an average 240 micrograms (µg) of iodine a day. In contrast, people
in Japan consume more than 12 milligrams (mg) of iodine a day (12,000 µg), a 50-fold greater
amount. They eat seaweed, which include brown algae (kelp), red algae (nori sheets, with
sushi), and green algae (chlorella). Compared to terrestrial plants, which contain only trace
amounts of iodine (0.001 mg/gm), these marine plants have high concentrations of this nutrient
(0.5–8.0 mg/gm). When studied in 1964, Japanese seaweed consumption was found to be 4.5
grams (gm) a day and that eaten had a measured iodine concentration of 3.1 mg/gm of seaweed
(= 13.8 mg of iodine). According to public health officials, mainland Japanese now consume 14.5
gm of seaweed a day (= 45 mg of iodine, if its iodine content, not measured, remains
unchanged). Researchers have determined that residents on the coast of Hokkaido eat a
quantity of seaweed sufficient to provide a daily iodine intake of 200 mg a day. Saltwater fish and
shellfish contain iodine, but one would have to eat 15–25 pounds of fish to get 12 mg of iodine.
Health comparisons between the two countries are disturbing. The incidence of breast cancer in
the U.S. is the highest in the world, and in Japan, until recently, the lowest. Japanese women
who emigrate from Japan or adopt a Western style diet have a higher rate of breast cancer
compared with those that consume seaweed. Life expectancy in the U.S. is 77.85 years, 48th in
226 countries surveyed. It is 81.25 years in Japan, the highest of all industrialized countries and
only slightly behind the five leaders – Andorra, Macau, San Marino, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The infant mortality rate in Japan is the lowest in the world, 3.5 deaths under age one per 1,000
live births, half the infant mortality rate in the United States.
Today 1 in 7 American women (almost 15 percent) will develop breast cancer during their
lifetime. Thirty years ago, when iodine consumption was twice as high as it is now (480 µg a day)
1 in 20 women developed breast cancer. Iodine was used as a dough conditioner in making
bread, and each slice of bread contained 0.14 mg of iodine. In 1980, bread makers started using
bromide as a conditioner instead, which competes with iodine for absorption into the thyroid
gland and other tissues in the body. Iodine was also more widely used in the dairy industry 30
years ago than it is now.

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The number of women undergoing mastectomy (total
breast removal) for early-stage breast cancer has increased in the last three years
at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
More women choosing double mastectomy
A U researcher's study finds they embrace the approach even
though it may not be necessary.

An increasing number of women who find they have cancer in one breast are sacrificing the
other for peace of mind.
Christina Applegate: Why I had a double mastectomy
October 14, 2008
As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, Christina says she's been vigilant about getting
regular mammograms since she was 30 years old. In 2007, doctors recommended extra
precautions.
"My doctor said that the mammograms weren't enough for me because of the denseness of my
breasts," she says. "He suggested that I get an MRI."

numerous studies to date have shown that among the women die from breast cancer among screened groups than among those not given mammograms. The results of the Canadian National published in 1993, after a screen of 50,000 women between 40-49, showed that more tumors were detected group, but not only were no lives saved but 36 percent more women died from

It should be a simple thing to find
out how many people died from
breast cancer in a given year.
However this information is hard
to uncover. However, one thing is
for sure: more people are dying
and more people are developing
breast cancer each year. I can find
no statistical data anywhere that
shows breast cancer mortality is
falling.
